St. Kitts Lifestyle Shoot
When the Park Hyatt in St. Kitts calls you to do a lifestyle shoot for them, you pack your bags, catch a plane, and even swim if you have to so that you can make it there on time! Luna Belle Beauty had the pleasure of doing hair and makeup for one of the best on-set crew and production team for this immaculate resort, February of 2020.
Lifestyle Shoot? What’s that?
Lifestyle photography is a type of photography that aims to capture portraits of people in situations, real-life events or milestones in an artistic manner and the art of everyday life. The finished products are delivered to the client for their own use. The content created and the storytelling can be used for marketing and advertising. The result, beautiful photos, videos that showcase your business, resort, brand etc. Lifestyle shoots requires a whole team to create the original content. That includes videography, editing, hair and makeup, wardrobe, assistants etc. It takes a full village to create what we see on billboards, ads, magazines and so forth.
How does hair and makeup come into play in lifestyle shoots?
What We Did…
Nancy (Luna Belle Beauty owner) was on set for a total of four days. Two of those days were spent on-set with the team. Our days typically start at 4-6am and end late at night. With the help of a local artist, Nancy created the hair and makeup looks for all of the shots. For these type of shoots, we work closely with the stylist, this time Aaron Williams, an astounding wardrobe stylist from Los Angeles, Ca. We have worked closely with Aaron for several years now and have found working alongside him to be easy and joyful! We then discuss with the photographers and team what the scene is and determine how the hair and makeup should look. Should it be elegant, relaxed, effortless; the team take our input and suggestions and then once we are in agreement, we start working quickly on the looks. Typically, we have about an hour before the models need to be ready and dressed. Then we have a few minor changes to hair and makeup for the other setups. Sometimes, however, we will find ourselves completing different looks that better fit the scene. This is where our sharp eye and ability to work well under pressure comes into play. By the end of the first day, everyone is like one big family.
About the Park Hyatt
Park Hyatt St Kitts is a private, exclusive luxury hotel in a secluded area with clear blue water and soft sandy beaches. Some of the areas in the resort that they shot content in were pools, the bar, the beach, and even recreation activities such as the fitness area and biking. The resort has spacious guest rooms and suites (many offering their own pools and private sundecks) and throughout the property you see contemporary architecture and unobstructed views of the Caribbean Sea.
For us, the resort was a highlight to the job. It was a delight to stay at the resort and experience their beaches and grounds. The staff were excellent and the food exquisite. We highly recommend checking Park Hyatt in St. Kitts out for your next getaway!

Luna Belle Beauty has had the privilege of working with one of the best lifestyle and architectural photographers Mimi & Coy for over 7 years now. Coy and Nancy first met as neighbors in Burbank, CA back in 2015. There they bonded as friends and neighbors and learned about each other’s artistic jobs. Together, they have worked on several jobs including but not limited to Hyatt Regency, Park Hyatt, Park Hyatt Aviara and many other wonderful companies around the world. What sets Mimi & Coy apart is their ability to tell a story beautifully and effortlessly while making everyone on set feel comfortable and free.
