Fall is just around the corner, which means it’s the perfect time to stalk up on hydrating skincare and makeup essentials! Read on to discover the latest up and coming autumn trends and how to achieve a gorgeous fall aesthetic for sweater weather season.

 

Latte Makeup 

Nothing can compete with a perfectly blended, bronzed to the gods makeup look… except for one that’s easy to learn and doesn’t require you to buy twenty different products!

In the past few months latte makeup has gone viral for its soft mocha hues and effortlessly dewy finish, catching the attention of celebrities and influencers all over social media. Stars like Gigi Hadid, Beyoncé, and Shay Mitchell have all fallen in love with the trend, all thanks to Rachel Rigler!

In Rigler’s ‘Latte Makeup’ TikTok (inspired by Tanielle Jai) she teaches how to use smoky browns and a variety of bronzers to achieve a look that’s both sultry and classic. The best part? Whether it’s the beach or an evening out, latte makeup is so versatile that it works for nearly every occasion!

 

While the summer version of latte makeup is best expressed through golden, bronzy colors, latte makeup can still be worn in winter and fall. For the cold brew version we recommend opting for more cool toned browns and light bronzing, especially if you tend to lighten up towards the end of the year.

You’ll also want to make sure to use a CC cream/skin tint, as a huge part of latte makeup is the light, dewy finish. Not only will this let your natural skin shine through but it also combats the dryness experienced from wearing some fuller coverage matte foundations.

Plus with less products on the skin, you’ll avoid a makeup artist’s worst nightmare: the dreaded creasing of foundation throughout the day!

Foxy Eyes

If you’re looking for the perfect blend of sexy and feminine flare, foxy eyes are your new best friend!

At first glance it may seem like a standard black winged liner, although the technique actually requires a mix of dark shadows and wispy lashes. As opposed to a classic wing, foxy eyes are much less defined and have a smoked out touch to them.

STEP 1: To achieve this look you’ll want to start with priming the lids and gathering the shadows you’ll be using for your base. It’s important to remember that the focus of foxy eyes is on the smoky wing, so there is no need for a darker shade in the crease.

Depending on your skin tone, you’ll want one lighter shade (cream for fair complexions, light brown for deep complexions), a mid-tone shade (this can range from taupe to peach to warm

 

brown) and a  long tapered blending brush. Once you have your colors, blend the mid-tone shade from the center of your crease all the way out to the end of your brow. This same color will cover your lid as well from the center outwards. Next, you’ll use the shadow similar to your complexion and buff it into the inner corner as well as directly below the brow. For added contrast you can also buff a light cream shade from the inner corner outwards. *It’s important to remember that the only sharp line you want to noticeably see will be with the liner, everything else should be seamlessly blended!

STEP 2: After you’ve laid down your base, it’s time for some foxy fun! Grab a matte black shadow (for ultra fair skin you can use a dark brown) along with a cool toned brown shadow and a warm lighter brown shadow. With an angled liner brush start drawing a line with the

 

black shadow at a very slight angle. Continue drawing the line at an angle until it lines up with the tail of your brow. (If your brows are on the sparse side then you will have to map out where the tail would naturally end.)

Next, layer the cool toned brown shadow above the black and smoke it out with a fluffier blending brush. Follow up with the lighter warm brown shadow and layer on top. Continue to add color and then buff until you have the intensity and level of smokiness you desire!

STEP 3: For the last step you’ll need a black liquid liner, false lashes, lash glue, a Q-tip, and some makeup remover (or any cream skincare product that can act as an eraser). Dipping the Q-tip in the remover, you’ll then create a sharp edge as you use the Q-tip to “cut” the shadow. As you create the edge, make sure you cut the shadow slightly upwards at an angle.

 

 

For soft foxy eyes (refer to pic #1) you can leave the wing as is and finish up the look with some false lashes and mascara. However, if you’d like a more defined wing, you can use the black liquid liner to trace a very thin line on top of the black shadow all the way to your inner eye corner (refer to pic #4).

For bottom shadow, you can simply add a touch of the mid-tone shade used earlier along the lash line with some bottom lash mascara. Or if you’re looking to spice things up… take the liquid liner and draw a point on your inner corner, extending a thin wing along the bottom lash line.

For an incredibly sharp and distinguished eye, you can also smoke some of the black shadow along your lower lash line and tight line with some black eyeliner pencil where your lashes meet your lid. Just make sure the eyeliner pencil is safe to use on the waterline!
